About Local Connections USA
A free national community platform connecting people to local businesses, neighborhood resources, community events, and each other — while offering free life skills education and inspiration for people of all ages.
What Is Local Connections USA?
Local Connections USA is a free national community platform founded in 2026 by John Hayden — a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and 30-year healthcare industry leader based in Connecticut. The platform was built on a simple belief: strong communities are built by informed, connected, and empowered people.
We connect residents and families to local businesses, neighborhood resources, community events, and each other — all at no cost. At the same time, we offer free life skills education, interactive tools, and inspiration for people of all ages, because the choices we make every day shape the lives we live.
The platform features a business directory, a Community Rewards program, a local events calendar, community news, a job board, a Home Service Pros directory, community classifieds, and a Community Help Board — alongside life skills education, interactive tools, and inspiration for people of all ages. It also features 13+ interactive tools — including decision-making simulators, habit-building challenges, a financial literacy game, a life-planning experience, and a private recovery guide for teens navigating the aftermath of a poor choice.
Everything on the site is completely free. No subscriptions. No paywalls. No ads. Every resource is available to anyone with an internet connection, anywhere in the United States.
Why Local Connections USA?
From the moment we wake up to the moment we go to sleep, we are making choices. Some feel small. Others feel enormous. This site exists to help people of all ages understand that every choice has a consequence — and that with the right knowledge and mindset, you can make decisions that lead to a life of purpose, health, and fulfillment.
At the same time, strong communities don't happen by accident. They are built by local businesses that show up, neighbors who look out for each other, and platforms that make it easy to connect. Local Connections USA brings all of that together in one free, accessible place — for everyone.
